Art-Port Gallery presents preview on the inauguration at the MAN Museum in Nuoro, a chapter of the exhibition “ SENSORAMA The gaze, the things, the deceptions from Magritte to augmented reality” . For the occasion, the Airport and the Museum sign a cultural twinning and a virtuous dialogue against the backdrop of a research project dedicated to the great theme of perception.
SENSORAMA adopts the model of the Museum of Illusions in a cultured and original way and entrusts the works of contemporary artists and videomakers with the exploration of the relationship between Vision and Perception with the aim of showing the complexity of cognitive phenomena and the “pleasure” of being deceived. Illusion is our reality. Because we see little of the world out there that our eyes are able to see. “How your eyes trick your mind”, as the English say. The result is a representation of things that is not real at all. It’s up to our brain to orient ourselves between appearances and enigmas.
SENSORAMA Spinoff presents in the ART-PORT GALLERY space a taste of the path that unfolds at the MAN in Nuoro, through optical illusions resulting from the most up-to-date studies on visual perception, alongside works of art that reinterpret concepts such as illusion in terms of aesthetic research itself, but also the paradox, the appearance and the mystery. In addition to a journey into the misunderstandings of sight, the space hosts three sculptures inspired by sibylline images, changing geometries, unreal perspectives.
